Hello, my name is Angela.
If you asked me what my ideal day would look like, it would have to include three things: good food (dessert for the win!), finding three things to laugh about, and a moment of quiet reflection. Or, failing that, watching cat videos while stretching with my cats. I am a big believer in journaling, movement: such as tai-chi and mindful walks, and fidget toys. I am a friendly introvert who has learned that I am able to achieve my goals on my own terms and in my own time, working alongside supportive others.
As someone who sometimes struggles with attention, anxiety, and hyperfixation (researching pre-20th century cooking and free writing are my jam), I am always working to find new ways to work in a way that works best for me. I continue working on new ways of processing and learning. I work with people experiencing multiple challenges such as depression and anxiety, to help them live as their authentic selves and help reach their goals when unhelpful inner critics have stated ‘you can’t’ or ‘you're not good enough.’ I would like to help others realize that they are not only ‘good enough’ but that they can thrive fully and holistically.
I am a believer in and personally practice DBT, CBT, and I enjoy exploring different kinds of mindfulness practices with my clients. I would like to gain more skills and experience in somatic therapies. I appreciate art and movement therapies in particular. I have experience working with adults seeking help for co-occurring challenges such as substance use, depression, anxiety, and learning differences. If you are looking for an opportunity to build mutual trust and try different approaches and techniques toward whole wellness and confidence then we will be a great match!
